A Butterfly Valve is a quarter-turn rotary valve used to regulate, isolate, or control the flow of liquids, gases, and slurries in piping systems. The valve consists of a circular disc mounted on a rotating shaft; when the handle or actuator is turned 90 degrees, the disc rotates to either allow or block flow. Butterfly valves are lightweight, compact, cost-effective, and provide quick operation, making them widely used in water treatment plants, HVAC systems, chemical processing, oil and gas facilities, and industrial pipelines. They are available in wafer, lug, and flanged designs and can be operated manually, pneumatically, electrically, or hydraulically.
